Why Travel gets me high?

Let's be honest: this isn't just about travel. It's about that thing—the spark that pulls you out of the mundane and into a life worth remembering. For me, that thing is travel. It's my rush, my religion, my reality check, my drug of choice. What's yours? And if it matters that much… why haven't you started yet?
Your bucket list isn't just a wish list. It's a countdown. A full bucket implies a life well lived—but also, one nearing its end. Time, unlike your phone battery, doesn't give low-power warnings. One blink and snap—Thanos style—you're dust.
So jump. Leap. Move. Before your moment passes you by. To make this journey personal, I'm hitching a ride with my ultimate obsession—travel :)
"To travel is to live."
— Hans Christian Andersen
The Human Dilemma
Humans are incredible. We build, we dream, we explore… and then, we shrink into routines. We become cogs in systems we once tried to rebel against. We live behind invisible walls, keys long forgotten. This world, this simulation wasn't built to be navigated on autopilot. It was designed for discovery, for the bold, for the curious. Sticking to routines might keep you safe, but it won't make your story worth telling.
Break free. Get lost. Lose a "life," respawn, and level up. Life's a game, but only if you play it like one.
So Why Travel, Really?
Because travel isn't about maps and visas or crossing geographical boundaries. It's about crossing the internal borders we've drawn around ourselves. When you lose your way in a new place, you find parts of yourself you never knew existed. Real travel humbles you. It reminds you that you are a tiny speck in a sprawling, breathing universe. It shows you how small your problems are and how big your spirit can be.
You might think your life is "normal." But what if normal is just the echo chamber you've been living in? Step outside, and the volume of life turns up. Every smell, color, and stranger becomes a story. Even a short trip to an unknown town can jolt your senses awake like a double shot of espresso for the soul.
Humans are wired to wander. We roamed before we ever settled. Comfort zones are a modern invention, but the urge to explore is ancient. And guess what? The probability of you being born—you, with your exact DNA, your thoughts, your soul—was 1 in 3 trillion. That's not just rare. That's nearly impossible. It's the Universe rolling dice for billions of years and somehow... landing on you. You weren't meant to just pay bills and scroll through life. You are a cosmic event, a one-time occurrence in the entire history of everything.
So ask yourself:
Why waste this miracle watching reruns, stuck in traffic, or waiting for "someday"?
Don't live as if you were guaranteed more time.
Live like someone who beat impossible odds to get here—because you did.
A Little Thought Experiment
Imagine this: two identical artists. Both given the same canvas, same brushes. One has a single day to paint. The other has a week. Which artwork comes out better?
Of course, the one after a week! Because a lot of time has been spent in perfecting that piece of art.
Now picture Earth as the grandest masterpiece ever created—4.5 billion years in the making.
Forged in fire, carved by glaciers, polished by storms, and painted by sunsets. Every mountain, canyon, forest, and ocean is a brushstroke in this cosmic artwork. Wouldn't it be a tragedy to leave this divine gallery unexplored—to live your whole life without witnessing even a single frame of this living, breathing canvas?
We all are stuck in this rat race and corporate life, swiping cards to fill the void.
Stuck in this routine pattern, how can we be this stubborn?
We need to open the door that's in front of us, but we refuse to walk right through because we're being too cautious.
We are trapped in a cycle of grind that's glorified. All we need to do is travel more — and trust me, it'll change you forever by the core.
Top Reasons Why You Should Travel More Often
1. If You Didn't Do This… What Did You Do?
If you've never:
- Watched the Northern Lights dance in the Arctic sky
- Skydived above Dubai's Palm Jumeirah
- Swum beside whale sharks in Cebu
- Summited Kilimanjaro at sunrise
- Tracked wild white tigers in Afghanistan
- Rode a Mustang through the backroads of Cuba
- Scuba dived with manta rays in Bali
- Danced till dawn in Barcelona
- Skateboarded under midnight sun in Iceland
- Cliff-jumped into the Pacific off Hawaiian cliffs
- Bathed in the holy Ganges in Varanasi
- Kayaked across crystal waters of Moraine Lake
- Rode the Trans-Siberian like a scene from a novel
- Road-tripped the Pacific Coast Highway with the top down
...then what stories will you tell your grandchildren?
2. You Have the Time (Right Now)
You'll never be as free, as wild, or as unburdened as you are now. As life grows, so do its responsibilities. Use your "now" before it turns into "never."
3. Travel Is the Purest Kind of Happiness
New environments force growth. Travel challenges your brain, expands your heart, and rewires your soul. You don't just return with souvenirs—you come back as someone else.
4. Open Your Mind, Widen Your Lens
Your worldview is a product of your postcode—until you travel. Seeing different cultures teaches empathy. Understanding diversity brings clarity. The world isn't just a map. It's a mirror.
5. It Pushes You Beyond Easy
Your coffee order might be easy. Navigating Tokyo's subways without knowing Japanese? Now that's a rush. The struggle is real—and it's transformative.
6. You'll Create Stories That Outlive You
Forget staged Instagram posts. Capture the chaos, the color, the calm. Years from now, those blurry photos will be treasures.
7. The World Is Full of People You Haven't Met Yet
Every traveler is a potential friend, teacher, or love story waiting to happen. Let cultures clash—in the best way possible.
8. You'll Evolve, and Fast
The more of the world you see, the more you'll understand yourself. You'll learn to adapt, to let go, to laugh at the chaos. The Earth is a classroom, and every border is a new subject. The more you see of the world, the more you'll realize how it really works. You'll be challenged to figure things out along your path, making you a wiser, more versatile person. Earth — an amalgam of views so stupendous, mountains so magnanimous, oceans so infinite, deserts so desolate. There exist places here which will leave you flabbergasted, that take you out of your comfort zone, give you a hit that no narcotic ever can. Soon, travel won't be a hobby. It'll be your favorite addiction, And once you become an addict to travel, it'll be the elixir of life.
Take my word:
You know it's time for some adventure when you start looking like the person on your Aadhar Card.
So start small. Save up. Take the bus. Hitch a ride. Sleep in hostels. Splurge sometimes. Just don't wait. The bucket list won't cross itself.
Go find the world before it forgets your name.
Come back with souvenirs stitched into your soul.
Return home with a glowing face—and a heart too full to carry.
And always remember:
The Earth won't remember you when you're gone—
But you can make sure you remember every second you spent on it.
